Let's Get Salty

Have you every experienced a salt cave or a salt room? At 50 years old I have finally checked this off my bucket list and it was a yoga class practicing poses and pranayama or breath control. A good friend of mine and a fellow yoga teacher Jessica Senek of Senek Botanicals led the class here at Hearth & Haven Therapeutics in Lewiston, NY.

This is a very intimate, very tidy space. I could feel the sense of calm as I walked up to the door. Class was held in a small room with 2 large Himalayan brick salt walls which I couldn't wait to touch! The ambiance was beautiful. We were given white blankets and yoga blocks for comfort. Before we started yoga, a staff member explained to us how the dry salt works and what we can expect. The medical grade salt is misted through a space in the wall and into the air for you to breathe in to benefit from it's healing properties. Throughout the practice you could see a layer of salt begin to cover the floor. I could taste the salt! After class I drew a heart in the salt on the floor and walked in it leaving footprints on my yoga mat. It was a very blissful experience and one I can't wait to have again!

Dry salt therapy can help bring ease to conditions such as asthma, colds, flu, ear infections, fatigue, allergies, sinus infections and so much more!
